Capacity Building and Strengthening
Capacity Building and Supporting Government Efforts in Wildwife Conservation
Our conservation efforts are focused on five key target areas that are crucial for the protection of amphibians, reptiles, and their habitats. Mount Manengouba is home to diverse ecosystems that provide essential habitats for endangered species. Mount Bamboutos offers a range of habitats, from forests to grasslands, supporting rare species of wildlife. Mount Nganha features lush forests that serve as vital sanctuaries for vulnerable species, while Mount Kala is known for its endemic species and varied ecosystems, including forests and wetlands. Lastly, the Ngovayang Forest Massif plays a critical role in maintaining biodiversity and regulating water sources. These regions are central to our mission, and we are committed to protecting them through reforestation, research, and community involvement, ensuring the long-term survival of these unique ecosystems and the species that rely on them.
about us
Reforestation
Our association supports reforestation to restore natural habitats for amphibians and reptiles. Planting trees helps rebuild safe areas where these species can live and reproduce. By working closely with local communities, we promote sustainable land use and help protect forests and the wildlife that depend on them.
Education
Education is a key part of our mission. We create programs that teach children and adults about the importance of amphibians and reptiles in healthy ecosystems. Through school activities and community workshops, we encourage people to respect nature and support conservation efforts.
Awareness
Our association raises awareness about the threats faced by amphibians and reptiles. Through public campaigns, events, and partnerships, we share simple information about issues like habitat loss and climate change. Our goal is to inspire more people to care about and protect these vulnerable species.
Ecological Monitoring
We conduct ecological monitoring to understand the condition of amphibian and reptile populations. By collecting data in the field and using modern tools, we can follow changes in their habitats and identify new dangers. This helps us improve our conservation strategies and take action when needed.
Income-Generating Activities
Our association develops income-generating activities that support both conservation and local communities. Through ecotourism, sustainable products, and responsible agriculture, we help people earn money while protecting natural habitats. This creates a balance where communities benefit and nature is preserved.
