Our Mission
At Herp-Cameroon, our mission is to create a society that recognizes and values the crucial role of amphibians, reptiles, and other natural resources in sustaining human life. We strive towards sustainable management of these resources for present and future generations through activities that promote environmental protection and conservation of Cameroon’s herpetofauna in their natural habitat. We are committed to raising awareness and advocating for the preservation of these vital resources, while inspiring and encouraging individuals to actively participate in their protection
Our Work
HERP Cameroon is a non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to the conservation of amphibians and reptiles in Cameroon. Our mission is to protect and conserve herpetofauna species along the Cameroon Volcanic Line (CVL), while raising awareness of herpetofauna conservation among the public. We believe that building a network of herpetology experts is crucial to combatting the bushmeat trade and supporting government efforts to conserve wildlife in Cameroon and Central Africa. Our organization advocates for strong policies to protect wildlife, particularly herpetofauna, and aims to enhance capacity building for herpetology conservation efforts. Additionally, we strive to foster female and youth participation in conservation activities, recognizing the importance of diversity and inclusivity in our work.
